Who We Are

Loudoun Education Association membership is available to all of the Loudoun County Public School employees. The LEA is over 3300 members strong and continues to grow.

Joey Mathews, our full-time release President, devotes his time to our membership concerns. Patsy Brown Layer and Pam Dilbeck are the UniServ Directors who advise members regarding employment related issues.

Local workshops are conducted by the LEA and the Virginia Education Association to enhance your professional development while you earn recertification points. LEA effectively advocates for educational issues with the school board and board of supervisors.

Membership in the 60,000-member-strong Virginia Education Association makes you a part of an experienced and effective statewide organization that advocates for education issues in Richmond. VEA lobbies the State Board of Education, Department of Education and the Virginia General Assembly. Membership in the National Education Association, with over 3.2 million members, makes you a part of the largest education association in the nation. NEA monitors education issues including ESEA, IDEA, Head Start, tuition tax credits and vouchers in Congress.
